The healthy milk from the desert that scientists are calling a superior source of nutrition

Camel milk contains high proportions of anti-bacterial and anti-viral substances, antioxidants and immune system boosters, including:

B vitamins, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Zinc, Potassium, Calcium, Phosphorus, Selenium, Iron & other beneficial active ingredients.

Camel milk may be a “new” milk to us in the western world, but it’s been used for centuries by the nomadic people of the Middle East, North Africa and parts of Asia to help them maintain their health despite living in a harsh environment.

"Winter is usually a tough time at our house. This year we had no illness, colds, or flu. The camel milk is creamy and delicious and works great in smoothies."

Camel milk’s unique properties

In the past 10 years there’s been a dramatic increase in the use of camel milk around the world and the bioactive ingredients of camel milk have gained significant attention from scientists worldwide who are studying their health benefits. Camel milk has a creamier texture than most alternative milks, such as nut milks, and it has some rare beneficial qualities.

Protein Structure

Camel milk does not contain A1 beta casein and lactoglobulin and is usually well tolerated by those with dairy allergies.

Lower Fat Content

Camels produce milk that is naturally low in fat (only 2-3%), about 50% lower than cow’s milk. The fats in camel milk are turned into the smooth, creamy texture by naturally occurring Omega-3 fatty acids, which are known to be very beneficial.

Impact On Blood Sugar

The insulin-like protein in camel milk has a unique property that protects it from the digestive enzymes in the human stomach, making it more available to the body. This means it’s absorbed better and makes it suitable for anyone who needs to control their blood sugar level.

Immune System Support

Immunoglobulins, or antibodies, are immune-boosting substances. Camel milk is high in potent immuno-globulins, which are smaller than human immunoglobulins and can easily pass into human tissues. Camel milk contains beneficial enzymes like lysozyme and lactoperoxidase, which are helpful to the body in fighting infection.

Colostrum Benefits

Colostrum is a fluid produced by mammals before breast milk is released. It’s very nutritious and contains high levels of antibodies - proteins that fight infections and bacteria. Camel milk is virtually bio-identical to the colostrum in a human mother’s milk and stimulates the same properties as colostrum, so it is highly nutritious and easy to digest.

Vitamin C, Iron and Zinc

Camel milk contains more iron and about 3 to 5 times more Vitamin C than cow’s milk. It also has a high proportion of zinc which significantly enhances insulin interaction in the body.

“There is no question that camel milk possesses unique, powerful immune health system components that are nearly bio-identical to human colostrum.”

What are the main active ingredients in camel milk?

The 2 main active ingredients are:

Lactoferrin (protein)

Immunoglobulins (antibodies)

What does camel milk lactoferrin do?

A number of studies on camel milk lactoferrin have shown that it has valuable health properties, including: anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-tumor.

Lactoferrin inhibits growth of bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella Pneumonia, Clostridium, H. Pylori, Staphylococcus Aureus, and the yeast Candida Albicans.

Camel milk lactoferrin influences the activation and maturation of various immune cells. It has also been shown to have significant anti-inflammatory effects.

What do camel milk immunoglobulins do?

Immunoglobulins, also known as antibodies, are proteins in the immune system that help stop intruders from harming the body. Most immunoglobulins consist of what are called heavy chains and light chains.

Those found in camel milk are important therapeutically because they have only two heavy chains – light chains are absent.

This means that the immunoglobulins from lactating camels pass into the milk and help strengthen the immune system.

"When I first heard about camel milk I thought I’d never try it. But I saw how it helped my friends. At our age we need all the help we can get – wherever it comes from. Now I drink it every day!"
